To introduce myself , I'm Martin and my wife is Narrima, an unusual Egyptian name, but we're both English and in our early 50's, not too old to enjoy life and with loads of experience !!!!! I'm a Yorkshireman by birth and my wife is from Sussex. Narrima comes from a nursing background within the UK and formally in the Royal Navy. And I started life as a truck mechanic moving on to work for the AA (Automobile Association) before going self employed. We saw our lifes consumed by work, bills, and a grotty climate and decided on a life changing move to the sun.
We moved to Spain eight years ago to Torreivija on the coast near Alicante, a very nice 'stop over', but it wasn't long before we knew our move to Spain needed to be to the countryside away from the close environment of competitive housing and all the problems that come with it including higher prices being introduced for almost everything.......
Hold on we thought, this is not what we wanted from life, and started seeking out different parts of this wonderful country, looking for peace and tranquility. We also wanted to find an area that the Europeans had not over populated, somewhere with genuine Spanish people, somewhere that we felt reflected Spain as it should be. It wasn't long before we came across Cuevas Del Campo, by accident and found it had everything we wanted and more. We found the lake... it caught us in its grip as it's done for many as we experienced the wonderful views , and when we arrived in March the mountains were still dusted with snow and the almond blossom was out.
We then searched around for a house and found 'Villa Rustica' outside the village by less than half a mile, an old farmhouse above a storage area in need of modernisation.
Over the past 5 years, we've done extensive work to the house and created the apartment we offer for holiday's today.
